What is Nokia Point & Find?
Nokia Point & Find has multiple worlds in which you get contextually relevant
information and services, not just web links, by simply pointing your camera
phone at objects. For instance, point your phone at a movie poster on the
street in London to watch the trailer, read reviews, get the soundtrack, find
the next showtime at the closest cinema and even buy tickets. The unique thing
about Nokia Point & Find is that you can point at real-life objects and get
information in real-time.
When do I use Nokia Point & Find?
Nokia Point & Find is available on select objects like movie posters and
barcodes. The recognition works in most weather conditions. You can even create your own world.
And more and more, you'll be able to access custom worlds.

Is Nokia Point & Find free?
Yes, it's free to download and use the Nokia Point & Find application.

Do I need to register to use Nokia Point & Find?
No, everyone can use Nokia Point & Find.
I downloaded Nokia Point & Find on my phone but it won't launch.
Go to the application folder on your device. If the download completed
successfully, the Nokia Point & Find icon should appear the bottom of the
screen. Also, make sure that Nokia Point & Find is installed on the phone
memory, and remember that Nokia Point & Find is currently only available on a
select number of devices.
Is Nokia Point & Find available in my country?
Nokia Point & Find can be downloaded and used everywhere. However select
worlds are not available on all devices or countries. Available worlds can be
activated from the Carousel, which automatically opens when you launch Nokia
Point & Find. The Movies World is only available on select devices in the UK
and US. The Shopping World is available in the UK and US, and on devices that
have autofocus capabilities. The City Guide World is available everywhere if
your device has built-in GPS. The 2D Barcode world is available everywhere on
devices that have autofocus capabilities. You can even create your own world.
And more and more, you will be able to access custom worlds.
Do I need a data plan to use Nokia Point & Find?
You need to download data to your phone to use Nokia Point & Find. Your
operator may or may not let you do so if you don't have a data plan. We
recommend that you get a data plan to use Nokia Point & Find in order to
minimize your charges. To do so, you need to contact your operator directly.
Do I need GPS-enabled phone to use Nokia Point & Find?
No, you can use Nokia Point & Find without a GPS-enabled phone. But Nokia
Point & Find integrates GPS and location technologies so your experience is
enriched with GPS. The City Guide World is not available on devices without a
built-in GPS. If your phone is GPS-enabled, verify that GPS data is available.

Where do I use Nokia Point & Find?
Nokia Point & Find can be downloaded and used everywhere; however select
worlds are not available on all supported devices or in all countries.
Available worlds can be activated from the Carousel, which automatically opens
when you launch Nokia Point & Find. The Movies World is only available on
select devices in the UK and US. The Shopping World is available in the UK and
US, on devices that have autofocus capabilities. The City Guide World is
available everywhere if your device has a built-in GPS. The 2D Barcode World

Nokia Point & Find is running, now what do I do?
Navigate the Carousel to the world of your choice and select it to activate
it. The Carousel automatically opens when you launch Nokia Point & Find, and
you can reopen it anytime by navigating to the world icon. If you select the
Movie World for instance, recent movie content will download to your phone.
Once it is loaded, point your phone at a movie poster on the street in London
to watch the trailer, read reviews, get the soundtrack, find the next show
time at the closest cinema and even buy tickets.
What worlds are available?
Available worlds can be activated from the Carousel, which automatically opens
when you launch Nokia Point & Find. The Movies World is only available on
select devices in the UK and US. The Shopping World is available in the UK and
US, on devices that have autofocus capabilities. The City Guide World is
available everywhere if your device has a built-in GPS. The 2D Barcode World
is available everywhere on devices that have autofocus capabilities. More and
more, you'll be able to access custom worlds, or even create your own world.
To access custom worlds, go to the Add/Remove world in the Carousel to search
for and install a custom world. For example, users in Germany can install the
Barcoo World for shopping.

Movie World How-to
I want to activate the movie world, what do I do?
The Movie World is available only on select devices. If it is available, a
Movie icon will be featured in the Carousel. Select it to activate the Movie
World. Recent movie content will download to your phone once you see a loading
bar at the bottom of the ViewFinder. Once the downloading is completed, point
your phone at various movie posters. Try to stand 3 to 6 meters away from the
poster, either straight on or from a 30-degree angle. You will see movie
information appear just below the ViewFinder. Select the result of your choice
to access the information: reviews, trailer, or showtimes. Nokia Point & Find
integrates GPS and location technologies so you can see what is playing
nearby.
Nokia Point & Find won't recognize a movie.
Stand 3 to 6 meters away from the posters, either straight on or from a
30-degree angle. Another way to get movie information is to start typing the
movie name and you will see available titles appear in the directory. Scroll
up or down to select the movie of your choice. Our movie catalog includes all
the current and upcoming releases.

I want to activate the Shopping World. What do I do?
The Shopping World is available only on supported devices with autofocus
capability. If it is supported, a Shopping icon will be featured in the
Carousel. Select it to activate the Shopping World. Point your phone ~10cm
away from the barcode, centered in the ViewFinder, so that it occupies between
1/4 and 1/3 of the screen. The camera will autofocus until it recognizes the
barcode. When displayed, select 'Product Information' to access the item
description, price, merchants, or add it to your wishlist.
Nokia Point & Find won't recognize a barcode.
Point your phone ~10cm away from the barcode, centered in the ViewFinder, so
that it occupies between 1/4 and 1/3 of the screen. Alternatively, start
typing the item name and you will see available products appear in the
directory. Then, select the product of your choice. Our product catalog
contains a few millions products, and we are constantly expanding it.

City Guide World How-to
I want to activate the City Guide World, what do I do?
The City Guide World is available only on supported devices that have built-in
GPS. If it is available, a City Guide icon will be featured in the Carousel.
Select it to activate the City Guide World. Point your phone at a restaurant,
or a store, or any place in your neighborhood, and wait until Nokia Point &
Find can recognize the location. If not, type the name of the location where
you are looking at, and then select Tag. That way, you can create tags that
others will be able to see next time they point at the place you tagged.
Nokia Point & Find won't recognize a place.
You are probably the first person to try and point at this specific place, so
why not tag it yourself? To do so, frame the place in the ViewFinder, type its
name, and then select Tag. Next time someone points at this place, they will
see your tag.

2D Barcode World How-to
I want to activate the 2D Barcode scanning, what do I do?
The 2D Barcode scanning is available only on supported devices with autofocus
capability. If it is available, a 2D Barcode icon will be featured in the
Carousel. Select it to activate the 2D Barcode World. Point your phone ~10cm
away from the barcode, centered in the ViewFinder, so that it occupies between
1/4 and 1/3 of the screen. The camera will autofocus until it recognizes the
barcode. Upon barcode recognition, the software will display additional
information or trigger an action, such as opening up a webpage or prompting
you to send an SMS.
Nokia Point & Find won't recognize a barcode.
Point your phone ~10cm away from the barcode, centered in the ViewFinder, so
that it occupies between 1/4 and 1/3 of the screen.

Inner Workings
How does the recognition work?
Recognition in Nokia Point & Find happens in real-time on the client
application without the need to take a picture or make a call to a server.
Server-based recognition typically takes 10 to 30 seconds, depending on your
network connection. With Nokia Point & Find, you get results in just a few
seconds. The Directory is also on the device, so the search will happen in
real-time as soon as you start typing a keyword.
How do I download a custom world?
Select the Add/Remove World icon from the Carousel, and then enter the full
name of the world. Select it to start the download. You need to enter the
exact name of the world,. To delete a world, select it in the Carousel and
press and hold the 'C' key (or the Delete key on Touch UI). You can only
delete worlds you have added yourself.
What does 'Guest Access: Enabled' mean?
Anyone can use Nokia Point & Find as a guest. When guest access is enabled,
you are able to download and view any world open to the public. Guest Access
does not require a login name and password.
What does 'Guest Access: Disabled' mean?
Do not disable Guest Access unless you collaborate on the creation or
maintenance of a custom world. Disabling Guest Access opens a login screen.
Enter the user name and password you created when registering for the
Management Portal to activate your collaborator rights.
